Are you looking to explore a bit of Grenada while staying here for hurricane season? There are many things to see and do here, and you’ll definitely want to visit the beautiful waterfalls in Grenada.

Scott and I spent 6 months in Grenada on our sailboat for the hurricane season, and checking out Grenada’s waterfalls was a favorite thing to do off the sailboat. Trust us, these waterfalls are so enchanting that you’ll want to see many of them twice, like we did!

In this article, you’ll discover Grenada’s 7 most impressive waterfalls from easiest to hardest to access, a map with the waterfalls’ locations, how to get there, the price (if any), swimming areas, nearby attractions, safety tips and much more.

Whether you are looking to get off your sailboat for a while, or can’t decide which Grenada waterfalls to explore first, this guide will prepare you for an amazing waterfall adventure.

So throw on your swimsuit, pack a backpack with snacks, water, and maybe some bug spray and a towel, and let’s dive into the best waterfalls in Grenada.

1. Annandale Falls

Difficulty: Easy

Price: $10 XCD (approximately $3.70 USD)

Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

The first waterfall I visited after sailing down to Grenada and getting all cleared in is Annandale Waterfall. I was immediately taken in by this 30-foot waterfall surrounded by lush green vegetation and a refreshing pool at the base of the waterfall perfect for swimming.

This waterfall is the most popular, and easiest, waterfall to get to on the island. It’s a 20-minute drive from downtown St. George’s in St. George Parish and often included on several tours. You can also reach Annandale waterfall by car or bus.

Annandale waterfall is part of Annandale Waterfall and Forest Park, which also has a beautiful botanical garden, souvenir shop and airy outdoor restaurant, Wild Orchid, overlooking the beautiful waterfall. It’s a short 5-minute walk on a paved road from the entrance to the waterfall.

Being the most popular waterfall on the island, it is a bit touristy, and can also get rather crowded when the cruise ships arrive in the fall and winter. We visited Annandale Waterfall on a Wednesday in July and the crowd was light.

2. Concord Falls

Difficulty: Easy

Price: $5 XCD (approximately $1.85 USD)

Another very easy waterfall to visit with no hiking required is Concord Waterfalls. This is a 65-foot waterfall located in St. John Parish, approximately 35 minutes drive away from St. Georges.

Concord Falls is also included in several tour packages. Or you can rent a car or hop on Bus #5 to get here.

After paying admission at the store or bar and grabbing a refreshing drink if you choose, simply walk down the steps and right into the pool at the base of the waterfall.

A great feature about this waterfall are the bathrooms available as well as local vendors with small shops selling spices, jewelry, art and more.

Concord Falls is located at the beginning of the hiking trail to Au Coin and Fontainebleau waterfalls and share a parking area with them.

If you are feeling adventurous, you can hike to one or both of them, before checking out Concord Falls. This is exactly what we did and it was quite nice to grab a refreshing drink and swim in the pool at the base of Concord Falls after a morning of hiking in Grenada.

3. Mount Carmel Falls

Difficulty: Easy

Price: $2.50 XCD per person (equivalent to $0.93 USD)

The most fun waterfall we went to was no doubt Mount Carmel Falls because of the natural waterslide. There are a couple of waterfalls here, and the lower falls you can slide down into the pool below!

Mount Carmel Waterfalls, also known as Marquis Falls, is located on the eastern side of the island in St. Andrews Parish, approximately a 45-minute drive from St. Georges. You can drive here, take a taxi, a tour, or a bus.

Once here, you park on the side of the road, and need to go through private property behind a house to get to the trail. Don’t worry too much about finding it, there are typically locals there directing you where to park or start the trail.

Once you arrive, you will need to pay $2.50 XCD per person to the girl that lives there for access.

There is a short hike, less than 30 minutes, to get to Mount Carmel Falls, which is 70 feet tall! It ended up raining the day we went there, and the trail got a bit slippery. Bring a hiking stick if it has been raining recently.

You can swim at the 70-foot tall Mt. Carmel Falls, taking in the tall lush foliage surrounding you. After swimming, walk down to the lower falls and dare to go down the natural water slide!

There is not much in the area for food, drinks, or shopping, so stock up on snacks at one of Grenada’s grocery stores. Or swing by Grenville, Grenada’s second largest town, just a 10 minute drive north of Mt. Carmel Falls for some pizza and ice cream.

4. Seven Sisters Falls

Difficulty: Easy to Intermediate

Price: $5.00 XCD for parking (approximately $1.85 USD)

Seven Sisters Waterfalls gets its name Seven Sisters because it is a group of seven waterfalls all cascading down from the same mountain, covering 1,033 feet!  It is located in St. Andrew Parish, not far from Grand Etang Lake.

It takes approximately 30 minutes to drive here, but you can also take a taxi, tour or bus

Seven Sisters Falls, also known as St. Margaret’s, are my favorite waterfalls in Grenada that we visited! This is partly due to the well-maintained trail we hiked through the lush green rainforest to get there. The hike only took about 30-40 minutes and is approximately 0.5 miles long.

The best part is the jaw-dropping view of two of the waterfalls once you arrive. And to top it off, you get to cool off from the hike in the refreshing pool. If you use a guide on this hike, you may get lucky and get to see them do a Grenada waterfall jump from the top of the waterfall, like we did in the video below!

While there are 5 more waterfalls associated with 7 Sisters Waterfalls, these first 2 are the easiest to get to, and most frequently visited.

After your hike back from the waterfalls, enjoy a cool beverage at the bar located at the parking lot where you paid.

5. Au Coin Falls

Difficulty: Intermediate

Price: Free ($5 XCD if you are also visiting Concord Falls)

Au Coins Waterfalls, meaning at the corner of, is located near Concord Falls in St. John Parish, and the trail for Au Coins Falls starts at the parking area for Concord Falls.

The hike to Au Coins Falls is approximately 45 minutes through fields of nutmeg and sugar cane then into the rainforest up to the waterfalls.

Hiking guides are recommended for both Au Coins Falls, and Fontainebleau Falls, which starts with the same trail head, then forks off.

Once you arrive at Au Coins Waterfalls, flowing from 65 feet above, take in the beautiful rainforest surroundings while jumping into the pool below the falls.

6. Fontainebleau Falls

Difficulty: Intermediate

Price: Free ($5 XCD if you are also visiting Concord Falls)

Located near Au Coin Waterfalls and just as tall at 65-feet is Fontainebleau Falls. It starts with the same trail as Au Coin, then forks off on its own path through the rainforest.

This hike is also approximately 45 minutes to get to the falls, and approximately 1 mile long (each way).

We hiked to Fontainebleau Falls in early September 2024, two months after Hurricane Beryl passed just north of Grenada, and the trail was difficult to find at times. At one point, we ended up walking in the stream to get by some downed trees and other thick brush where the trail had not been maintained since the hurricane.

Once we got to Fontainebleau Falls, we could see the beautiful waterfall, but we could not access the pool to swim in due to all of the down trees.

It was still a great day of hiking though, as we ended our hike with a refreshing drink and jump in the pool beneath Concord Falls, as well as shopping at the local shops.

Scott and I are walking on top of a fallen tree trying to find the trail to Fontainebleau waterfalls. There are big banana leaves behind us in the rainforest.

7. Golden Falls

Difficulty: Hard

Price: $75 – $100 USD depending on group size through tour guides

Golden Waterfalls is the most challenging waterfall to get to on this list, but also the most unique.

Golden Falls gets its name from the golden color from the sulfurous rocks in the area and is the only waterfall I know of that has both hot and cold water flowing in the falls.

The falls are located under Mount St. Catherine, the highest mountain in Grenada at 2,757 feet, near the village of Mt. Home in St. Andrew Parish. It is an approximately 50-minute drive from St. George’s.

The hike to Golden Waterfalls is about 2.5 miles each way, taking approximately 1.5 hours to get there.

Once there, you can reward yourself with a dip under the falls to cool off from your hike.

Due to the difficulty of this hike, there is actual rope you need to hold on to through parts of the hike, it is highly recommended to use a guide who has experience hiking to this waterfall.

If you are looking for a full-day adventure with a great reward, then Golden Falls is the waterfall for you.
