Many of the best restaurants in Grenada are within walking distance of popular cruising anchorages.

After spending more than five months here, we have had more than enough time to find places to eat in Grenada that are easy to get to, dog-friendly, kid-friendly, and budget-friendly.

Spoiler Alert: Container Park is our favorite place to take our dog Mangaux.

If this is your first time sailing in Grenada, or you are looking for where to eat in Grenada walking distance from the dinghy dock, then this guide will provide you with a variety of options.

St. George’s / Grand Anse Best Restaurants in Grenada

1. Umbrella’s Beach Bar

If you’re looking for one of the best bars in Grenada that you can get to from your dinghy, then check out Umbrella’s Beach Bar. They are located just across the street from IGA Supermarket, a great store for grocery shopping.

After sailing to Grenada, I first came here with my British friends to watch the European 2024 Championships, and the crowd was going wild with excitement.

You’ll love coming here for the beautiful views of Grand Anse Beach, the delicious drinks and food, and the fun atmosphere to watch your favorite game.

2. Savvy Cabana

Another great beach bar right at the end of Grand Anse Beach near Morne Rouge is Savvy Cabana.

What I love about Savvy Cabana is that if you dine and/or drink there, you get use of their beach chairs to take in the beautiful view.

3. 61° West Restaurant & Beach Bar

If you want to be at the center of it all, then head to 61° West. It’s right in the middle of Grand Anse Beach and not far from the Grand Anse Craft and Spice Market.

This is the perfect beach bar and restaurant to end your day and catch a beautiful sunset.

4. Victory Bar and Restaurant

If you are anchored or moored at Grand Anse Beach, take a dinghy run into the Lagoon and check out Victory Bar at Port Louis Marina.

It’s the perfect spot for a beer after clearing in with Customs and Excise located at Port Louis Marina, and a great gathering spot for cruisers – just a short walk from the dinghy dock.

  • Bring your dog! Dogs are welcome at the tables and chairs on the outside of the restaurant

5. Knife & Fork Port Louis

Right next door to Victory Bar and Restaurant at Port Louis Marina is Knife & Fork. 

I love coming here for breakfast – the fruit compote on their waffles and pancakes is amazing! I had a wonderful birthday breakfast here and enjoyed sipping a cappuccino in the air conditioning!

  • Must Try Dishes at Knife & Fork Port Louis: Pancakes with fruit compote for breakfast and Grilled Vegetable Wrap for lunch – both delicious!

6. The Spout

If you’re looking for a restaurant that is easy to get to and has great views and prices, check out the Spout at Grenada Yacht Club.

We stayed at Grenada Yacht Club for several months during hurricane season in Grenada and ate here on several occasions. They have different specials on different nights of the week, including live music and DJs.

  • Get to Wednesday Wings early before they sell out

7. Sandra’s Rotis

This may seem like an unexpected recommendation, as Sandra’s Roti isn’t a sit-down-style restaurant.

However, you need to try a roti from Sandra’s across the street from the Port facility.

A roti is an Indian flatbread filled with your choice of chicken or beef, potatoes, and delicious spices and Sandra makes them fresh every morning.

  • Make sure to order the boneless chicken, if not, it will come with bones in it!

8. Sand Bar & Grill

If you are looking for a relaxing beach bar atmosphere on Lance Aux Pines Beach, right at Prickly Bay, then dinghy over to Sand Bar & Grill. The sunset views from the Sand Bar make my top things to do in Grenada!

We came here with Scott’s dad and girlfriend and this was one of their favorite restaurants.

9. Prickly Bay Bar & Restaurant

Conveniently located at Prickly Bay Marina is the Prickly Bay Bar & Restaurant. This is a popular hangout for cruisers as they have a different weekly event each night of the week!

  • Must Try Dishes at Prickly Bay Bar & Restaurant: Garlic Pizza – so good!

10. Secret Harbor Restaurant

About a 15-minute walk from Prickly Bay Marina is Secret Harbor. They have a wonderful restaurant here at their marina, a little more upscale than the festivities and atmosphere at Prickly Bay Bar & Restaurant.

  • Walk over from Prickly Bay or tie up your dinghy at Secret Harbor Marina
  • Must Try Dishes at Secret Harbor Restaurant: Risotto – hard to find on restaurant menus and delicious!

11. Spice Affair

Spice Affair is my favorite restaurant in Grenada! It is a bit on the pricier side, but if you like good Indian food, then this is a must-stop. 

Spice Affair has the best Indian food in Grenada, and the best service on the island.

They have a charming outdoor seating area with a beautiful fountain and a gorgeous indoor eating area that is nice and air-conditioned.

  • Celebrate your birthday here and get a dessert!
  • Must Try Dishes at Spice Affair: Malai Jhinga Curry with fresh prawns in a creamy almond sauce. Also the garlic naan!
  • Price: $$$$
  • Best For: Upscale dining experience within walking distance from Prickly Bay and Secret Harbor
  • Location: Lance Aux Pines Main Road, St. Georges

12. West Indies Beer Company

West Indies Beer Company is next door to Spice Affair and walking distance from both Secret Harbor Marina and Prickly Bay. 

I love finding restaurants I can walk to like this for easy Grenada Travel when we don’t have a car.

Its location and fun atmosphere make it a great stop for cruisers.

They often have themed nights, such as movies on Thursdays and Western Wednesdays.

  • They also serve breakfast and bottomless mimosas!
  • Must Try Dishes at West Indies Beer Company: Spicy and grilled chicken sandwiches – pair well with their beers and ciders!

13. Container Park

Another one of my favorites is Container Park. This is an area of, yup you guessed it, containers! Each container is a different restaurant offering a variety of food from tacos, Indian, BBQ, pizza, and Mediterranean fare.

Located next to St. George’s University, it appears to have a good nightlife with fun games like beer pong and Connect 4 (after we cruisers are back on the boat!).

One reason I really like this place is that we can bring our dog here. Sailing with a dog has its challenges trying to figure out where we are and aren’t allowed to bring our dog. 

This is a great grassy area behind the container park that Mangaux can run around in after we are done eating.

  • Walk from Budget Marine in Prickly Bay, or it may be possible to dinghy in from True Blue Bay
  • Must Try Dishes at Container Park: Tofu Poke Bowl from Cherry’s Kitchen and Tacos from the Cuban Place – Mine and Scott’s favorites

Woburn Bay Area Best Restaurants in Grenada

14. Island Fever Tropical Tavern (Restaurant at La Phare Bleu)

Island Fever Tropical Tavern at La Phare Bleu is the place to be if you are sailing with kids! They are located just east of Woburn Bay and have a small beach, and pool welcome to kids.

If you are here for the Halloween season, this is also a fun spot for kids to carve pumpkins and go trick-or-treating at participating boats.

  • Sailor’s Tip: Get to Wednesday Wings early before they sell out!
  • Must Try Dishes at Island Fever Tropical Tavern: Wings on Wednesday night! Wings Wednesday for $1 XCD ($0.37 USD) wings and buckets of beer.

  • Best For: Kid-friendly and has a pool
  • Location: Petite Calivigny Bay

15. Cruisers Galley Restaurant & Bar

Cruisers Galley is located at Clark’s Court Boatyard & Marina and is a perfect spot to take a break and grab some food while working on your boat in the boatyard.

  • Must Try Dishes at Cruisers Galley: Wings – with a lot of different flavors
  • Price: $$
  • Best For: Grabbing a bite and a beer when taking a break from working on the boat

16. Roger’s Barefoot Beach Bar

If you’re looking for a fun beach bar accessible by dinghy or water taxi, then stop by here on a Sunday afternoon.

On Sundays, or Sunday Funday as it’s often called down here, this place livens up. Catch live music, cold beers, and local foods while wading in the water.

  • The best day to come is Sundays
  • Must Try Dishes at Roger’s Barefoot Beach Bar: Beach Bar food – whatever they are serving!
  • Price: $$
  • Best For: Beach and water fun
  • Location: Hog Island in Woburn Bay

17. The Cove Marina Restaurant & Bar

Another great place to stop by for breakfast or lunch while hanging out in Woburn Bay is the Cove Restaurant. It is located right at the Cove marina with easy access from the water.

  • Must Try Dishes at the Cove: Another great place for Roti’s – lots of variety!

  • Best For: easy access from your dinghy

18. Aquarium

Right on Magazine Beach is Aquarium, an upscale dining experience with breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea.

Sailor’s Tips

  • Dinghy over if you have a big enough dinghy (we wouldn’t try it with our 6-hp motor)
  • Must Try Dishes at the Aquarium: Sunday BBQ – with live music!
  • Price: $$$$
  • Best For: Sunday Funday – live music and BBQ
  • Location: Magazine Beach

19. Belmont Estate

Starting in the late 1600s as a sugarcane and coffee plantation, Belmont Estate is now known for its organic farming and delicious chocolate.

We toured the chocolate factory and ate at their wonderful lunch buffet…twice!

After the chocolate factory tour ($16 XCD / $6 USD per person) you get to sample their chocolate. Count me in!

They also have a wonderful buffet lunch ($80 XCD / $30 USD per person) with Grenada local food. While it is a bit more than we typically spend on lunch, it includes an appetizer, a plate from the buffet-style lunch, and dessert. The food is grown on the farm and it’s delicious!

  • Buy their chocolate from the estate. It is much more cost effective than buying it in souvenir shops or grocery stores.
  • Must Try Dishes at Belmont Estate: Their chocolate and their lunch buffet – worth the trip up there!
  • Price: $$$$
  • Best For: Chocolate and a beautiful view of the northern end of the island
  • Location:  St. Patrick’s

20. Wild Orchid

After exploring Annandale Falls and seeing the monkeys, take a break in the rainforest and have lunch and a drink at the Wild Orchid. 

The restaurant is right next to the waterfalls, and if you are lucky you get to see the local jumpers jump from the top of the falls!

Do you tip at restaurants in Grenada?

Yes. While tipping is optional, it is typical to tip in Grenada around 10-15% when it is not included in your bill. If it is included, you may tip an additional amount based on how happy you are with your service.

What is Grenada’s main dish?

Oil down is the national dish of Grenada. Oil down is a stew with a mixture of vegetables, fruits, meats, coconut milk, and delicious spices.

Grenada is known for its Rum Punches. There are a few different rum distilleries on the island and each establishment is very proud to make the best rum punch on the island with locally made rum.

Eating out in Grenada can be as expensive or inexpensive as you make it. We find that some places are less expensive than in the United States with $1 XCD ($0.37 USD) wings served in several restaurants on special nights of the week. We often find $5 XCD ($1.85 USD) beers as well.

What are your Favorite Places to Eat in Grenada?

Having spent six months in Grenada, we loved checking out new places to eat each time we moved to a different anchorage, when renting a car and driving around the island, or after working up an appetite hashing with the Grenada Hash House Harriers. 

My favorite restaurant on the island is Spice Affair for its amazing food and wonderful service. We actually came here for both our anniversary and my birthday celebrations.
